Promotional meeting for Partner 2009   

The promotional meeting for Partner 2009-the fourth international fair of arms and military equipment was held yesterday at the Belgrade Fairground offices. The meeting was attended by Ilija Pilipovic, Assistant Defense Minister for Material Resources, Brigadier General Danko Jovanovic, Head of the Defense Technologies Department and Andjelko Trpkovic, CEO of Belgrade Fair as well as the representatives of SDPR Yugoimport company-Stevan Nikcevic, CEO, and Nenad Miloradovic, PhD, Assistant CEO for Arms and Military Equipment Circulation.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia will be the main organizer of this fair which will be held at the Belgrade Fair from 2 to 5 June 2009, while the co-organizer is Yugoimport SDPR.

As Ilija Pilipovic said this fair was an opportunity to show the products of the domestic defense industry, their export capacities, as well as the results of research projects. The MoD will be represented at the fair by the Military Technical Institute as well as the Technical Repair Institutes “Cacak” and “Kragujevac”, and “Moma Stanojlovic” Air Force Institute, the Military Geographical Institute, the Military Academy, the Military Medical Academy, the Military Museum and ODBRANA news publishing center.

The CEO of Yugoimport SDPR Stevan Nikcevic said that 6 defense industry companies will present themselves at the fair. This is the largest fair of this kind in the region where various projects and offers are presented as well as various business deals are landed. Yugoimport which is celebrating its 60th birthday next year will also present its antitank rocket system Alas, modernized version of M 84 AB 1 tank and Lazar multi-purpose armored vehicle.

The CEO of the Fair stressed that even though only one domain of Serbian industry is being promoted at the fair, a large number of exhibitors and visitors testify to its significance. The fair will provide excellent conditions to the participants of the manifestation in order for them to represent the domestic defense industry in a better light.
