„PARTNER 2009“ – NEW PROJECTS
Presenting, at the press conference, the 4th International Fair of Armaments and Defense Equipment PARTNER 2009, which is going to be held at the Belgrade Fair, under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, in the period of June 2 to 5, 2009, Ilija Pilipović, Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, said that this year’s event is going to be much bigger compared to the previous ones. Having pointed out that military security of a state strengthens through partnership and numerous military activities, Mr. Pilipović stressed that the capacities of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Serbia have been increasing in the past few years, both in the scientific and research area and in logistics and he added that participation at PARTNER 2009 had been announced by 30 foreign military representatives. Their achievements and projects in the area of armaments and defense equipment, apart from the institutions of the defense system of Serbia, will be presented by the companies from 13 countries, on outdoor space and in hall 3 of the Belgrade Fair.
The co-organizer of the event PARTNER 2009 is Yugoipmort FDSP. The Director of this company, Stevan Nikčević, at the press conference at the Belgrade Fair, said that in the year of the jubilee, 60 years of existence, Yugoimport has, from the beginning of 2009, achieved the best export results in Serbia. Nikčević announced participation of important co-exhibitors of Yugoimport, as the integrator of the appearance of defense industry at this year’s Fair.
The Assistant General Director of Yugoimport FDSP, Dr Nenad Miloradović announced presentation of several new development projects, which have been fully developed in this company and made in cooperation with the military and civilian institutions of Serbia. Among the novelties are the multi-purpose armored transporter LAZAR, self-propelled gun-howitzer NORA, reconnaissance combat vehicle KURJAK, artillery fire control system, defense equipment and armaments for the „soldier of the future“...
Announcing the International Fair of Armaments and Defense Equipment PARTNER 2009, Anđelko Trpković, the Director of the Belgrade Fair as the operational organizer of the event, said that the Fair on its own organizes 40 events a year, and that this project, without the expert support from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia and Yugoimport FDSP, the Belgrade Fair would not have been able to successfully organize on its own. The fact that many novelties in the area of defense equipment and armaments, which had their first appearances at the Fair, received high marks from defense experts across the world as well, corroborates the justification for organization of such events.
Formal opening of the 4th International Fair of Armaments and Defense Equipment PARTNER 2009 will be on Tuesday, June 2, at 11:00 hours at hall 3 of the Belgrade Fair. Opening hours on June 2 - 4 will be from 10 to 17 hours exclusively for business visitors while, on June 5, apart from the partners exhibitors, the Fair of Armaments and Defense Equipment, from 10 to 19 hours, may be toured by other interested visitors as well.
